JOHNNY ROX
A New Jersey native, Johnny Rox had an interest in percussion from an early age after discovering Kiss and first hearing “Kiss Alive.” Influenced by all genres of music from metal to new wave, Rox became a founding member of the metal band Minotar, which recorded two full-length CDs with Glenn Evans (formerly of the New Jersey metal band Nuclear Assault). Minotar played many shows in the tri-state area and opened for Six Feet Under in the Garden State in 2004.
Rox is a member of the Army National Guard, serving from 2004-2006 and again in the summer of 2008 in Iraq. Balancing his military accomplishments with musical talents, Rox auditioned for Blue Man Group in early 2007. Reaching the top ten in a search for the new group in Universal Studios, Orlando, Fla., Rox lost but left the competition motivated to hone his skills as a drummer even further. Returning from Iraq, Rox found another journey was waiting: performing as the new drummer of Tasting Grace.
